Not today, but last weekend.
Decided it was about time I started playing with the wheels and tires like dad used to do.

Yes, there is a law that says you should run them.

But, if you don't go "stunting around" (burnouts) the police will usually look the other way. Several officers in our police force are "hot rodders" too.

Mike, is the second picture showing those aggressive tread Toyo tires that pop's drove to Bonneville on? I kinda like those.

A couple clicks of our Sunday's activities. Thank gang, was another great day of shiny stuff and friends, enjoying the long weekend.
Car show at Gull Lake Alberta:

....and a few more:

Then we stopped over at the Truck Museum at Rimby for a peek :p

What is this??

Funny how this tool has 'evolved'...

Some of the crew enjoying conversation and articals...

Thanks for looking.
Greg

Not really a "did today" thing but I did get the CIP RETRO radio installed in my 68 mustang convertible. Thought I should report back to the crowd since they do advertise here.
Report is......
Just fine thank you, shipping was very prompt, the installation was simple. I have just two kick panel speakers (those came from somewhere else and there was issues with that !). It fits the dash quite nice, little tight with padding under one knob. The knobs impressed me.....heavy, made of metal, NOT CHROME PLATED PLASTIC. Sound is good, volume is even good for a convertible. I went with the blue tooth model only because it was on cheaper than the next one down at the time and 25 watts per. I am not using the blue tooth features though. The cool part is it is easy to operate and adjust.....not like some aftermarket radios.

Thanks Shaune. That is good to know information, as I have looked at those radio ads and wondered how they were. You said a while back that you were ordering and would give us feed back, very good of you.
Rock on, :-D

Last Friday we moved to a house in the country outside of Burlington. A smaller house but with a big garage:D
Here is a pic I took before I tucked the collection away for the night;)

Greg, thanks for the pics of the show, looks like a good turn out.

36 Couper, nice seeing a man with the right priorities, smaller house to save the wife on house work and bigger shed for you, now that is getting things done right, :)

Watched this GMC truck hood wasting away on neighbour's lot for 17 years, made a deal (free) and painted DREAMLAND GARAGES on it at coffee times at work. I made paper stencils of the letters, laid them out and then traced the outline. Used a real crappy modeler's paint brush and stayed mostly in the lines  I like the end result.
Might need a giant FORD and PLYMOUTH sticker on it still.
Going to hang it on the wall in one of the garages.

Went in work early yesterday morning and got started on making myself an engine run/test stand and worked on it over my lunch today. It might be a while before I'm to the point on my project where I can fire up the motor, so figured this would come in handy. I plan on switching the intake/carbs, and will give me the opportunity to make sure everything is running smooth so it's ready to go once I drop it in the car. Still have gotta make the gauge cluster, wire, and plumb it, but should be able to tackle that this weekend. Here's a few pictures of what I've got so far!

A lot cheaper than buying one... most everything I have lying around the shop, all I have into it so far is the casters.

Not just today but everyday since the 14tn been helping organize relief to the Baja peninsular after hurricane Odile.

That test stand looks great! I need to get at making one to test an old 401 nailhead thats been sitting in the corner for over 12 yrs . Still not sure what I've got so I' need to run it and see.

I also like the engine run-stand...i like them period, a cool shop toy. Keep us up to date as it progresses please.
Very cool,
Greg

Sailing Lunenburg harbor looks much more interesting than being stuck in a huge traffic jam
on the way back from a car show at 8 Rinks in Burnaby. But i probably saw more 37 Plymouths,
59 Meteors and Starsky and Hutch Torinos than you.

today..

Cruised me Chevelle around before winter sets in up here in October, then it rained, I picked up groceries in my grocery getter so my wife thinks it is useful and cruised home, great day. Parked in my same spot at Walmart.:D
