How to identify a merc 4' crank TECH

My old man and I knew about the dimple in the crank for my uncle back in Winnipeg who is quite knowledgable with flat heads. My father landed a Merc motor when he picked up his 50 Shoebox project. My uncle and father went through the Merc flattie a couple years ago and we are going to put it in my 51 Meteor this winter.

well done. and thanks,,,, i have a seized one that is supposed to be a merc. crank. the one low piston is 3 7/8 down the bore from deck height ....what do you think???...i will pull the pan soon and see,,, now that i know!
