No. it's a 90 bend not a straight 90.

In that case, I would do the opposite. Cut thru all three sides from the bottom, leaving only the edge with the chrome bead intact. This way will take several cuts spaced about 1/4 to 3/8 apart. (Practice on a short piece before cutting into the middle of the one you want to keep.)
So now that it’s summer on the island..got her done yet?
Getting back on it tomorrow as I been busy cutting the lawn etc.
