The Frame - Part 4

The Moment of Truth
Bob was obviously fretting about the first "real" test fit of the body on the fully reinforced frame. On first blush it seemed to be in position but as he took a glance from the side, he noticed (just prior to his heart attack) that the frame and body contour didn't match. OH MY GOD!

After getting up off the floor, he proceeded to the front of the body, gave it a shove and.. (drum roll) it fell into place with a satisfying clunk.

We're impressed again. It's amazing how things are starting to look more and more like a hot rod.

Another view. Nice and straight with equal overlap.

Taking a look down the tranny tunnel.

The horns were made from a cardboard tracing from an original frame . They were cut from flat 3/16 stock and cut on a band saw. Both pieces were ground and clamped together to be perfect mates.

The horns were tacked to frame extensions and two large magnets held them in place to verify measurements. When Bob was happy with everything, he made the welds.
