Lets see pics of what you'll be cruising in this spring.

How early do you need to book a tour on the Bluenose II?

You don't want to book ahead of time.
You wait to see what kind of a day it's going to be and then go down early and get your boarding pass.
You want it to be a fairly brisk day with the wind.
When the vessel is heaved over, moving at 16 knots and the main boom ( off to port or starboard ), is dragging in the water, that's when it's most exhilarating,
A calm day is pretty boring.
Mind you when they have a full compliment of passengers, they don't usually hoist the Tops'les, but only raise the 4 lower sails, the Main Sail, the Foresail, the Fisherman Staysail and the Jib.

Is that the wiff I see sitting on your lap. wink, wink, so no more :)

Being a flatland man, I can say that I wouldn't want to be on the Bluenose in that picture! Remember how us prairie folk don't like water right? I'd be pretty sure the ship was gonna sink with an angle like that!

I'll be in the Bird still- not a rod on the outside but....

312ci bored to 314ci., Mummert (Clay Smith )cam, Holley Street Avenger carb, Mallory electronic dist.

Sorry haven't been around as much as I want to be. Things have changed direction in my life but I do still have my cars in place. I will be running my 35 chevy this year. Out in the spring for the first time. Also still have the Beaumont but will be putting it up for sale in the spring.

I'm from the prairies, and I love it
When she's running downwind at 16 knots ( top speed ) that's when she's the most fun .... nothing like it anywhere on earth.

It would be near impossible ( and most likely never happen ) to Knockdown this vessel with the size and weight of her full keel.

They'd have a hard time getting her over that far in abnormal conditions.
There is a lot of weight in the keel and the further the boat leans,
the more weight it has to overcome to become a Knockdown.
You might submerge the toe rail or drag the booms in the water, but that would be as far as she'd go over.
Even if you do get a Knockdown, it doesn't mean she'll sink.

First photo shows the size of the vessel with the builders posing for a photo.

Second photo shows the Grandeur and Graceful Lines of her hull.
She's well built and will last many decades as Canada's Ambassador.
To me she is the hotrod of the seas.
Her design was and still is unbeatable, nothing under sail is faster, unless of course it's a 12 meter racing hull.

Thought at one point that I might have the Volvo ready. Yeah right.

So, it will be the roadster:

I will be driving our Club's Raffle Car until it's won on Mother's day this year.

Then, when that's gone, back to the old reliable... nine years this year.

At every opportunity, I will be riding this!

Life is good!
Mike

We will be touring locally with the truck

Taking the 33 on the Hot Rod tour and Route 66

Locally the Vette until it sells ( hopefully this spring:():confused:

Mike. Do you think you could find it in your heart to tell us about how we might purchase tickets for this raffle?
