Slip Yoke Measuring & Selection

I just went through a little trouble in regard to drive shaft/slip yoke issues and wanted to pass it on here. Long story short, I ordered a new driveshaft with dimensions I supplied and measured. As they need everything for balancing, and the cost of shipping my yoke/u joints to them didn't make sense, I had to purchase it complete. Again, long story short it would not work! After some investigating, the 'Spicer 2-3-6041X' yoke they supplied was not a Spicer/Neapco but an offshore replacement as the shop said they couldn't get north american made stuff. It carried the same numbers and was supposed to be a direct fit but was not the same! Again, long story short, pulled it and installed the real Spicer and all is well again. Just something to be aware of if you are dealing with driveline stuff right now.
