Oil pan removal 350 SBC help.

Ken, I have done that, and it has worked well….using a thin bead only…too much will make a mess and leak.

I would not put anything between the cap and block, you run the risk of changing bearing clearances, another reason to be very sparing with any rtv is it may end up clogging oil passages, etc. goo that can get to places it shouldn't be and doesn't break down easily.
