Four of the Oldsmobile 67-X Toronados were custom built by Georege Barris for Esso Oil and displayed at the Expo67 Worlds Fair in Montreal that year. The cars were to be given as prizes in a scratch off "Esso Roadshow" contest at Canadian stations.
Two survive, but one belonged to a man who soon died, and the family doesn't know what happened to it.
Who knows, it may show up one day in an old barn up north one day.
Barris took an Olds Toronado and stretched the middle section 15 inches, raised the wheel arches, and worked the body in his distinctive style.
The limo interior took on a sort of drug den appearance with wrap around rear seating and a swivel seat up front to face the back.
There was a convenient table between the front and rear seat for uhh..playing cards. Barris actually built a fifth example which he kept for himself naming it X-70 Golden Arrow.
