My flathead needs some love!

I have an original '49 8BA in my Shoebox coupe. It has a stock Holley carb and intake but has custom headers to lake pipes (no mufflers!). Yeah, its loud, badass and cool as all hell but.....it is lacking some performance to match the sound! I have another Holley 94 which I will be rebuilding because my current one leaks a bit. Now, how much of a performance difference will I see by doing a two carb set-up with an offy intake or something similar? Is this going to be a huge difference? I would like to keep things traditional as this is the direction I want the car to be going.

Any thoughts or inputs?

I am sure Flatcar will respond to this once he sees your thread.
I do not think the two carbs will make a signifigant difference however.

You probably won't see much difference at all. Dual carbs and finned heads mostly make it look pretty. The big change will come from longer stroke, bigger bore and a good cam. BILL

Thanks Bill! I will just cruise with what I've got for now then. Then save my sheckles for something with more ooomph!

I appreciate the responses!
