Engine History 101 - 1960"s Cadillac V12

If you read the article to the end, you will see a link to the Packard V12. Yesterday I was visiting a friend in the Niagara Falls area, he has a 1936 LeBaron Packard chauffer sedan which won the Pebble Beach in 2005. I had never seen the car before and when I did, my jaw became unhinged. The basic car is similar to the one in the picture, but the padded roof over the chauffer is removeable, the roof over the passenger compartment is covered in leather, there is a divided rear passenger seat with center arm rest, and two forward facing jump seats that fold into the front seat. The crown jewel is the V12. It is a piece of art and if you look at the cut a way drawing, it is a mechanical marvel. I felt privileged to be able to stand next to it. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures.
