In the machine shop world, “plain bearing” refers to what many call a bushing…can be made from many different type materials, Babbitt, Bronze, Aluminum/bronze alloy, hardened steel, and the list goes on forever, even includes “plastics”.
The point of a plain bearing is no moving parts.
