Installed LS1 engine with 4L60. Received an after market trans cross member
and did not like its lightness at the connection to frame on the lip.
Decided to go with the stock cross member. Notched it for exhausts
and on the top drivers side for the frame mounted brake/master cylinder.
Took it to an inspector garage and believed it to be a stronger set up.
Any comments or related experiences on the above appreciated.
 
I too, have purchased components, that upon closer scrutiny and disliking the
general fit and finish, I ended up making or having someone help me make more appropriate parts.
