1951 255 Mercury Flathead Fan Spindle Bearing

My 1946 Ford 2 door runs a 1951 Mercury flathead.
The spindle and or bearing is worn causing operating noise when cold and more worrying, may fail potentially driving the fan into the rad.
Mac Auto, Early Ford, and Dennis Carpenter.
