Well .. I know most of the older members who have been here for some years have seen my car .. but I thought I'd post it for the members that haven't.
The car is still in the project stage with some changes been made ... yeah I know should have been done before it went for paint.
The paint is not quite right so the painter has agreed to re-paint it when I'm ready.
The Bulletnose '50 Studebaker started life as a Canadian Regal-Deluxe 2dr. Sedan from Windsor Ont. bought in Deep Cove BC for $1500.
The car was stripped of everything and body sent for an acid bath at Reddi-Strip in Richmond BC.
When the body was returned to me it was clean, shiney and full of holes.
All sheet metal repairs were done, firewall recessed, new floors, transmission and driveshaft humps fabricated.
Roof was chopped 3" and two 400lb. remote Actuators open and close the tilt front clip.
Ducktail was made using another trunk lid to house the license plate light.
License plate counter-sunk into the lid. A Chrysler draw-down actuator opens and closes the lid.
Under the car is a 3x5 custom frame, Horton's Evolution Mustang II IFS, a shortened '57 Dodge 8 3/4 Posi-Sure Grip / 3.31 diff / Bear Racing Axles,
Tri-angulated 4 link, AirRide Technologies RideProE Computer assistance Shockwave Airshocks.
BFG KDW's 245-40R-18" front / 275-40R-18 rear on American Eagles. 4 wheeled disc brakes.
'78 Granada calipers 11" rotors on front / '87 GTA Trans Am brake calipers 2000 Chrysler 11" rotors on rear
Aluminum fuel tank from Summitt Racing.
Powered by a 400hp 355 SBC 3000 stall w/ a B&M144 Supercharged / Holley 700 double pumper / Race Ready TH350 Turbo Tranny.
On the front of the engine is a Billet Specialties Tru-Track System. 3800 cfm puller fan and smaller AC fan on front of Aluminum Rad and AC Condensor.
Rad Overflow and Steering Fluid Reservoirs built into either side of the rad cradle.
Spider Web was fabbed to strengthen the hood and a steel Spider made by Dale Merritt ( CR Member ) will sit on the spider rod.
The rockers were removed and 5" pipe cut down the middle was welded in place to accept the custom fabricated 4" Corvette styled side pipes and Collectors.
Deflated bags, car laying pipe.
A wrap around custom rear roll pan to give it a modern look w/ a custom made ducktail on the trunk lid to hold the light for the sunked license plate.
Chrysler Drawdown Actuator to close and lock the lid.
Battery in the trunk.
Gas filler hid behind a Lee Valley hinged left taillight.
The tan leather interior is out of a '99 Infiniti, the dash widened 4" to accept Vintage Air AC/Heater unit, VDO Gauges w/ homemade bezel, B&M Pro Bandit shifter, Ididit Tilt Column w/ Grant Wheel.
