I bought this truck in Nov. Went to a land far far away. Took in a Saturday morning breakfast with the pine tree people where they talked about old vehicles and certain farm animals. No lack of hospitality, Left behind a 32 Plymouth sedan.

This is what I woke to.
I stripped the cab off the original frame and set it on a 72 chev 1/2 ton frame that I cleaned, painted, and rebuilt the front suspension.

Next came midmounting the engine and building mounts.

Cab on frame.

Yes Stan it should. It's the one you sold to Davey. Now guys I can't really remember much about what happened in PG and still don't know if what I remember was a dream or real but I sorta think there were ducks and maybe monkeys. I did see a dude helping a goat get through a fence. ANYWAY!
This is a pic of a flood victim 1963 air-stream safari trailer I bought for this project. It was washed a mile and a half away from where it was parked and judging from the damage and wet insulation it was on its roof at one time.

The plan at this point is cut it up and marry it to the back of the cabover without it looking like a trailer on the back of a truck.

I folded the front in about a foot to lessen the roundness, built a subframe and mounted it to the truck.

As you can see I also cut the back out of the cab for a walk through.

Cool project. I have a '47 Ford COE that I am collecting parts for. I have a Cube van chassis (GMC based) that I have lowering spindles and air bags. The plan is a 4-bar, air bag in the rear. It will have dually rims. I'm leaning toward making it a beer truck. (Or Jack Daniels). Do want to sell the cab back window section? My truck was a boom truck and they had installed a residential slider window. My contact is esra AT shaw DOT ca.
Cheers and beers, Ralph

Holy crap, didn't see the airstream part of it coming. This build just got a lot more interesting.......not that it wasn't at the start but you know what I mean.

Sorry Ralph- I used the back window section. It's been a tough go to get the back sheetmetal to cooperate but I'm happy with the result. Will have pictures soon. Random pic of the inside.

That's looking right slick .. what a novel idea to use an old airstream .. probably saved a bunch of time and money doing so.
