Just starting on my new build, another Model A coupe. The plan for this build is a high boy on deuce rails, chopped, big and littles with a yblock powering it and a T5.
I bought the car in Alberta before I moved to the island and have had it for a few years now, it was a running driving car and I thought I may be ahead of the game by purchasing something with a good body for this build.

We stripped the car down to nothing and I sold off a lot of the parts to try and recouped some of the investment for funds for this build.

i bought a set of ASC rails and boxing plates, built a jig table and am now just starting to fabricate the frame, it will be pinched in the front and rear to follow the A body and bobbed.

I have all the new suspension for it and am looking forward to the fabrication
Will post more photos as work progresses

The motor I have for this project is a 292 Y block, in time I’ll be sending it out for a rebuild and some goodies

Don't forget about the Old Car Center in Langley,, quite a bit closer, hence shipping cost less expensive.
They have a comprehnsive street rod cataloque.

Nice! Looking forward to the build. Glad to see you back. You're always an inspiration . (y)

Well this should help with the upcoming winter reading list!! Awesome, glad to be able to watch you put another cool project through your hands.
Greg

Spent an afternoon removing the doors and the interior from the coupe and decided to remove the vinyl roof with the hopes I would discover nice original wood! That wasn’t the case, the wood in the roof was all homemade and shimmed but the contours just didn’t match, hence why there was so much filler at the front to the visor. Got it all removed and have a new wood kit waiting to install

This body now with everything removed is in very good condition, I don’t see any evidence of any patch work and the panels all look pretty good from the inside

I spent some time today lowering my frame table to the ground and re-leveling it so I can be able to get the body on and off easier, I pinched the front of the rails to follow the A cowl dimension so about 1” narrower, the rear I’m unsure how much and where to pinch it so I decided to man handle the body onto the frame roughly where it will sit so I can see exactly where it needs to be altered and also where I need to cut the A sub rails and also to locate body mount holes prior to boxing the frame. At the 32 dimension in the rear it slips right into the A subrails but it will need to be pinched about 1” as well at the rear. Probably tomorrow I’ll fine tune the body location and remove the body after marking what I need to keep moving forward.

A nice solid old car. You can make the photos larger by clicking on the tag below the photo. Do each one seperately after obtaining it from your albums.

Oh, I am glad you are keeping the stock roof. One friend put the wood kit in then glued and screwed a 4 mm piece of mahogany down then glued the original type vinyl to that. My 29 Tudor at the drag strip looked like a balloon
going down the strip. I should have followed his example.

This will be the fourth top wood kit I’ve put in a Model A and I believe it looks the best and really helps square the whole body and retain the contours the way it’s meant to be, I will be chopping the top 4-5” but intend on leaving the roof ribs exposed on the inside and the long grain vinyl on the outside, but that’s a ways away yet. The color for this one when the time comes will be black
