And now for something completely different. How about a '32 Ford Phaeton (in some places called a Tourer - we'll get back to that) This particular project car belongs to Ian Swinbourne of Perth.

Canadians (especially those from Ontario) immediately think Perth, Ontario. Think again as Ian is from Perth, Australia. For those of you who don't know, Perth, capital city of Australia largest state is situated on Australia's western coast, close to the south-western tip of the country. We're not going to do any "shrimp on the barbie" jokes here. We're here to discuss a hot rod. By the way, "Tourer" is the local name for Phaeton.

The body is by Deuce Customs, Australia's top body manufacturer. They export throughout the world and are currently producing Boydster bodies for Boyd Coddington.

Have a look at some early shots of Ian's body and chassis.

It's different to see a 'glass body in this colour of gel coat.
Looks very straight.

You might be interested to know that, in 1932, Ford produced Phaeton and open pickup bodies in its plant in Geelong, Australia (south east part of Australia in Victoria near Melbourne)

Very nice place to start.

It's home and the kids take a look.
Thanks to Ian.
More to come.
