'50 Chevy 1/2 Ton

Scott has this to say about his truck:

"Working hard to have it ready for next year, have a 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton on a 1979 frame ( a &$%## exercise in inself ), with a 69 327 and a turbo 350 trans. Will have frenched 59 Cadillac tricolor LED taillights, frenched headlights, shaved trim and handles and a custom built louvered tailgate. Have done most of the work myself, or at least bled on it at some point whilst others helped me. Found a 1955 BelAir steering wheel to sit atop the van tilt column, and working on finding some 5" gauges to sit in reversed gauge housings (set back about 1/2" in stock location, heading towards the Classic Instruments style if I can afford them). Wanting to get the hood louvered, but finding someone I trust with a press is a chore too. Still to do is cab corners and smooth firewall on cab, then back to the frame to plumb for fuel, brakes and electrics. Hoping to run steel wheels and chrome rings, but as you can see, need to find something with a positive offset to clear the front fenders as I have dropped spindles on big brakes. Tossing two color schemes... either Plum Crazy, or leave it in black primer with some hot flames. arghhh, a tough decision."

See pics of the truck, the tailgate, the retrofitted Caddy tailights and the dash below. Another kool project. Gotta luv it. we're diggin' it. Thanks Scott.
