1959 Morris Minor
Dale Johnson
Tonawanda, New York

Check this out boys and girls. Are we having fun yet Dale? You will be for sure. Dale has this to say about his project Morris:

"This project seems to have it’s own life by the way it consumes mine. (I am sure everybody else building a project car feels the same way also). I do manage to make a nice ‘pile of engineering …souvenirs’ while sorting out the ‘just right’ bracket or component.

As you can imagine I do not have the luxury of a lot of room in a car that has an 88” wheelbase and measures 51” tall. I am surprised at the response the project is getting. It’s been sitting in my shop long enough claiming it’s own space that I am ready to move it off the frame jig and on to the floor. This past year I completed the front suspension/steering and now working on the inside of the car. I made some quick release seat frames and am now working on the clutch/brake pedal assembly. I decided on a 4-speed instead of the 400TH transmission just for the challenge of ‘rowing gears’ again.

Some specs on the car are: - 482” Olds engine, BW super T-10 trans, 9” Ford narrowed to 36” with 3:70s, Strange strut front suspension (modified), 4-link rear suspension, Pro-Trac tires 445 X 15 and 185 X 14 fronts. I’m using seats out of a BMW.

The body sports a 3-1/2” chop and the rear fenders will be raised 4” to keep the car low. I will be making the new fenders now that I completed an English wheel for the project."

Thanks for sharing Dale. We hope to see more of this project.
