This is looking like another great show in Southern Ontario. Dad's AA/Altered will be there at the show with the Brantford Piston Pushers Display.

Drag Racing history to be presented in first Drag Strip Memories show

Event to be held April 15 at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

Preparations for the first annual show devoted to the history of Canadian drag racing is now underway, and promises to offer something for anyone interested in the heritage of the sport.

Drag Strip Memories will be held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope, Ontario Sunday April 15 / 2012.

Highlighting the event will be some of Canada's most famous drag racing cars, including Willys gassers, early Funny Cars, and a front-engined Top Fueler. Over 20 race cars are expected to be displayed at the Warplane Heritage Museum, where visitors will also be able to experience some of the most significant warbirds in existence.

Drag Strip Memories will also feature the largest display of drag racing models in the country, set up as a miniature Cayuga Dragway, and posters, photos, and other documents related to drag racing. Three local car clubs will also present displays with a focus on early drag racing and the hot rod scene. Several vendors and artists will be on hand for personalized service.

Drag Strip Memories will be held from 11 am until 5 pm April 15 at the Museum, which is situated next to the Hamilton International Airport, at 9280 Airport Road.

I'll be there brother.....looking forward to seeing the "Charlie Horse" and Charlie plus club brother Dan McWhirters "Pipe Layer" 1970 front engine rail will be in the house.

It should be a fun time....see you there.

Hey Mark, good to hear you will be in attendance. Like you would miss it.

For anyone interested, the Piston Pushers are meeting at "Tim Hortons" at 9 am for coffee and then cruising into the show leaving Brantford at 10 am. Any one is welcome to join in. After the show there is also a group cruising to Port Dover for eats. Again, anyone welcome. Come join in on another epic event.

Sorry about the "Horton's" location. I believe its the Tim Horton's off Garden Ave @ the 403, but need to confirm. Shorts, good to hear your coming out. When you say there, do you mean the museum or the cruise in?

Hey gang....just getting back from set up day down at the War Plane Museum and everything is looking really good for tomorrow on show day.

It's such a cool venue with all the vintage drag cars mixed in with the Lancaster bomber and other fighter planes from WW11........hope to see a few of you brothers down at the show.......there's a ton of neat stuff "drag" out for display.
