Got a big block chev with 861359 on it might be missing first number but cant find anything on the ol inner web----anyone have a idea ???

Not listed on Mortec??

Closest is 361959.....454.......73-90...2 or 4 bolt
Could that be the number?

except 1st digit the rest is 100% correct and 100% big block --I looked at all the other sites and cant find it either??? why thought someone here might know --have old book or something that cant find on internet ?

has 4.25 standard bore so has to be 427/454 but what year ??

Did you look at the other BB pages on Mortec? They show where to look for date codes.

The closest casting number that I can find in my reference material is 361959, which is a 454 which was used in various applications from 1973-1985. Is the casting number clearly readable, or is it worn/dirty? Also is there any sign of a stamping number on the block deck surface at the front of the block? If so, the suffix code would be helpful.
