why don't you meet him in the parking lot at your local RCMP station? and any BC Government Agent Office can do a lien search while you wait, it takes 5 minutes and cost about 12 bucks all you need is the VIN. and then run it through this RCMP website, good for anything with a VIN thats ever been reported stolen, cars, trucks, ATV's, boats, and it's free and instantainious....

and then do an ICBC search, i think it's about $25-30 and will tell you if a claim has ever been made on the vehicle through ICBC. for instance, i found out the last truck i bought had the windshield replaced......
