Seats for 53chevtruck

I am doing a resto-mod and have purchased some Dodge Caravan bucket seats that have a nice shape. When mocked up on the original floor they sit two inches higher than original seat. Looks like this could be a problem sitting on the raised portion of the floor.
The other thing the I am concerned with is what is legal on fastening them to the floor. Anyone with experience on this? Cheers...

These are Intrepid seats on older Dodge magic wagon (Caravan?) bases that were too tall, I sectioned them (shortened) about two inches. Only took three times longer then expected!

If you use the original fasteners no legal problem.

Modify Seat mount

Wandering if it might be better to cut the floor pedestal down the two inches?
Should not be too bad zip cutting in out and welding in steel floor. Maybe
reinforce so seats have better bolt receivers. That would make a 2 inch drop from the wood floor in the rear to the front. cheers
