I'm trying to understand the ontario safety for my 30 model A...nobody can give me a real awnser about anything. Will a fabricated frame pass? I understand seat belts, okay...but heater, wipers and washer fluid??? Really...

Does anyone know if you actually need a heater or washer fluid to pass safety?

Welcome to Canadian Rodder.

Not sure on the frame/chassis, I'm sure someone will chime in.

Heater - Defrost your windshield - necessary evil in all cars

wipers and a system to keep your windshield clean - another necessary evil.

Seat belts - not necessary if not offered in your year of make, unless it's registered as a u-built and year it was built in.

Manitoba, modified cars currently require:

A defrost system on all enclosed cars.

Fenders

Seat belts, minimum lap belts.

Track width bumpers front and rear.

Modified frames or custom built frames MAY be allowed.

If you vehicle inspection station catches these or not, try to keep him in mind. If he gets nailed for passing a modified vehicle that is not up to spec he will probably quit doing modified vehicles and join the large group of stations that won't touch them. If nobody will touch a modified vehicle, we are off the road.
