Hey Guys;
My 76 T/Coupe has the old style duel ftoat bowl Holley

and the 77 Mrk Vs have what looks to me like an AFB style with a fuel return line.

Most linckage and vucuum hookups are similar enough they could be adapted to at least get the T/Coupe on the road. What I need to know can I just block off the return line and use the newer style on the 76? And the next question is, are there any good carb specialist left in Prince George and if so how do I find one????:confused:

If your car has a manual fuel pump mounted on the block you do not need a return line. Return lines are usually used with f/i units with a pump {electric mounted in the tank] Looking at the picture of that carb I am assuming that the top line pushed onto the carb is what your are calling the return line. In my opinion this is a vapor line that would go to a charcoal cannister or to a vapor management valve. If you have fuel coming from there you have a flooding problem

OK So if I pulg that exit line it should be OK? I'm sure that is where it goes to the charcoal cannister Thanks I'll try that. It will enable me to run the T/Coupe while waiting either for a carb kit or a new carb. I checked the Holley site, these carbs are pricey. lol

THNX again guys

Terry's Auto Lab in Quesnel. Terry knows his way around a carb. His phone # is 250-747-1348
Thanks for the lead but he was not interested in listening to the question. But I did get the info else where. So all is well Thanks again

That Lincoln carb is fords answer to the Qjet. The qjet will bolt on to the lincoln but that carb won't fit where you have a square bore holley...

552drpost:DIf the carb is the original one ,,:cool:Get it rebuilt. Trying to sub it is a mission that usually ends up in disaster. Find a good rebuilder and get it done .Take pix of how it is hooked up . Also while its off its a good time to pull the intake :eek::eek:Get it blasted and paint it .When its all done ,you will be glad you did it .
