How to bleed power steering system?

Hi. Are there any tricks or "watch-out-fors" like air bleeding when charging a power steering system for the first time? I have the typical old style GM Saginaw power steering pump (with pressure reducing shim kit installed) and a Mustang 2 style rack and pinion
 
I filled mine and the left the cap off and turned the wheels from lock to lock several times and the air just 'burped' out
