Axle Shims

I am looking for a source for axle shims for my 30 Chev with a 49-51 Chev axle that bolted to the stock spring perches.I finally got it on the road after my carb problems got rectified, however it is apparent that the caster is out on the front end and needs shimming. Thanks for any suggestions.I removed some leafs to lower and soften the ride and am assuming this has lead to my problem.

Try the local shops that sell 4 wheel drive stuff as it looks like a common part there. Looks like most are 2 1/2" wide, so if your spring is narrower, you can cut them down to fit.

I believe they are called caster shims. I got mine at a leaf spring shop in Calgary. You likely know this but be sure the center bolt of the spring still engages with the perch with the caster shim installed. I had to put Center bolt spacers in mine.
