As I mentioned on the Derek Panko auction thread, I was lucky enough to be the winning bidder of a '40 Ford Deluxe Coupe. Derek bought this rough and tough project car a few years back at an auction in Vanderhoof. I have always had a soft spot for a '40 coupe but up until now had never owned one.

Ahhhhh, have a look.......
Plans?? None right now except to clean it out and put it into dry storage. Gotta get back on my OTHER coupe.

The kid and I are putting a new clutch in the 260Z.
We got a new (used) flywheel to replace the one that some bad teeth.
So I had it resurfaced at a local shop.
I only want to do this job once, so everything is being replaced while it is apart.
I had to get the new throw out bearing pressed on, I took down the road from where I work to a big rig repair shop. He pressed the new bearing on, gave me some new dowel pins and says he wouldn't mind seeing the flywheel.
The old fella tells me the some of these "young guys" don't know what they are doing.
So this morning I bring him the flywheel, he says he'll check it out on his machine, if it's good, no charge, if not $35 to resurface it.
I picked it up this afternoon and sure enough he had re-surfaced it.
Apparently the first shop didn't mount the flywheel by the crank surface when the ground it, they just laid it flat.
Consequently the clutch surface was not square with the crank.
The guy got out his Iphone and showed me the video they took while grinding it.
As the flywheel went around, it shot sparks, then didn't and so forth, it was easy to see how much it was out.
It's all good now, and we'll start putting it back together tonight.
I'll go back to the first guy, but some how I don't think I'll get my $50 back from him. :-(

All I need to be amused is things that are shiny and or make noise but the lil Lady isn't as easily amused.
Anything to keep her 'busy' while I drool over rusty metal and greasy engines?
One mention of marshmallows and the trips off.:D
