Hello, I need a little advice.I'm building a street version of a 60s style gasser.I've had a fuel cell installed in the trunk of my 48 Austin. I've been told that the trunk and the passanger area should be separated by metal ( fully enclosed). I've also been told that just closeing it in with plywood would be fine.I wont be racing (too old) just cruzin'. What would be aceptable, what would be safe?

fer street, try an' seal it off as best,... an' fireproof as you can..... it'll at least keep the fumes out o' the car..... i do see a lot o' the cars with carpet an' stuff back there,.... but not my cup o' tea.............

I'm with D_Joe on this one.Seal it up best you can, sheet aluminum to the rear seat back and the package tray, some form of sound deadener, and then carpet or upholstery. That keep ya fairly safe and quiet ,too!Unless ya want the race car look then go fer the bare aluminum panels with some bead rollin' on them!
