Well heres the deal, I started out as a kustom guy, but in the last few years all I want to do is build hot rods! Because of this my Edsel will likely never go any further than it is now and all I do is neglect it and treat it like a red headed step child. It deserves better than me. I am terrible parent.
Anyways here is the deal,
Its a rock solid 58 Edsel Ranger 2 door hard top. 1 of 641 built in Canada. I was building it as a early-mid 60's style kustom.
It is powered by a 361 FE with a cruisomatic transmission.
Engine and Trans are painted candy green. Chromed edsel valve covers, chrome fan, chrome batwing aircleaner, polished stainless "Edsel" hose clamps.
Runs good, but smokes out of the left bank when you hammer on it.
The "teletouch" quit working last year, so it's rigged up to a floor shifter now. It's kind of hokey, but it works. My dad did it for me, and I was always planning on changing it, but like I said, all I wanna do is work on my model A.
The transmission slips going in to high gear, but I have another good tranny that goes with it.
The interior has new carpet, good door panels and headliner, and driver quality 64 Thunderbird seats. The drivers seat has a rip. Cd player with two speakers mounted in a louvered console under the dash
The suspension is lowered 4" via blocks and cut coils. It rides and steers great. New brakes all around, new u joints.
The body is rock solid, floors are like new, rockers and 1/4s couldn't be better. The door handles are shaved, emblems removed, "Lee Lens" taillights, kustom grille, pinstriped, louvered skirts etc... Roof is HOK organic candy green over silver base with flake. Watson style scallops on the roof and two panels. Good glass except one vent window (has a broken corner).
Brand new exhaust with 2" lake pipes. No mufflers, sounds great, not loud enough to get you in trouble, but still loud enough to scare your grandma.
Wheels are stock 14" rims, with 57 Chrysler hub caps on the front. Tires are new G78 wide whites.
Its a great daily driver, not a show car, but not a pile of junk. Just needs some issues sorted out, like every old car.
I'm asking $9000 or trades. I like hot rods. 1940 and older fords. But I also have a soft spot for shoebox fords, and 55-56 fords. 2 doors only.

If it sells great, if not maybe when my roadster is done I'll freshen it up and just keep driving it.
