Anybody between the coast and Edmonton got any idea about the state of the highways (Coq, Yellowhed) these days. Planning to leave the Island Monday AM (12th) heading for Edmonton in the '40 so am particularly interested to know if the winter's accumulatiion of sand (read gravel) has been swept yet. Thought you two truckers would be in the best position to know but would be glad to hear from anyone in the know.

Thanks in advance.
Jack

Hi Jack,

Here's a link to the highway cams:

Hope you have a good trip.

I would go via the trans Canada Jack. it was real good the last time down. and yer still liable to hit winter conditions on the top of the coke

Seems to me the Coke had some snow not even a week ago. I would agree on using the Canyon to get to the coast. Its also a prettier drive.

Was on the Coke from Kamloops to Merritt, then up over the top to Westbank last Monday. Everything was good.

Thanks guys. Don't know how I posted this in the Events area when I meant to be putting it in General discussion. Looks like I will try the canyon and stay low rather than chance the mountains. Thanks again.

Jesee Jack, sorry, I just found your post. Yes, use the canyon, the coke is in good shape but they did have another dusting of snow just yesterday morning. We had highs of 12 degrees yesterday, supposed to be 28 on thursday and 30+ on friday.
