I just got a heads up that the SRP has been purchased by the Wa state state police. They are going to use the road course as a training area for their officers (and the local law enforcement as well). They are going to operate it as it was including the oval and the drag strip. I feel this is a smart move, they will also keep the street racer kids off of the streets........... and direct them to the strip. TTFN

Having a track for people to use is great! Having it promoted well is also very important. I hope that was a good step and that it does stay open.
Here is a sticker I saw yesterday at the swap meet that fits in here...

Good news to see a Government body taking responsiblity to try and keep racing off the street, that's positive goverment and police work.
Neat sticker on the window as well.
Cheers, John

I saw the news report the day of the auction. The city of Spokane baught the facility, they will keep it as a running race complex. They feel that it will be be a long term profitable venture for the city. They will lease the track or hire a firm with experiance running a race track. They are going ahead with developement of the area around the track as well. The former owner had plans for condo's and a golf course to go along with the race complex. Earlier this year I was trying to find out what events were happening this year only to find the place wae up for auction. I'm happy it being saved.

Glad to hear somewhere someone is thinking of keeping things going for the future. With auto sports being one of our US friends biggest sports, I am glad they are keeping it alive for the up and comers.

yes, it is good to hear the track is saved and not rezoned into condos or ???? ...............now if we could get someone to save our 1/4 Mile track in Prince George. The word so far is that it is not opening this year:(
