Well I might be adding to the fleet I am looking at purchasing a 42 pontiac 4dr Complete except the radio I am wonfering is there any specific areas of the body that were notorious for rust I was told that is is in decent cond There is some rust on the pass floor The car ran when parked 4 years ago and also has all the clear appropriate paperwork for it Thanks for any help

Just the usual areas such as the lower cowl, bottoms of the doors, lower quarters in front of the back tires, lower edge of trunk lid, and the rear body below the taillights. If it has any wide mouldings such as on the rockers,you might try checking behind if possible. When you open the door, there is a wide door sill at the bottom on the body you should check. Anywhere two panels are bolted together, such as fender to body, may be suspect, but you may not be able to tell until the car is disassembled. Scott

Thanks Scott I guess check the whole thing over I havent got conformation on it yet but If it does go through I will be heading north on Monday

if the frame is the same layout as the late forties better check the rear part of it from the wheel humps back I know around here it is common for the rear of the frames to go bad.
