Don’t know how we get so attached to these cars but it is traumatic to part with one after having it for so long, bought my 1947 Buick Roadmaster Convertible in April 1982 and sold it April 2008. I have not used the car in several years so the new owner (in White Rock) will have to give it some TLC and he seems like the right guy for the car. It certainly is a big car, I can’t believe the room in my garage now,……….guess I’ll have to do something about that

Shame to see that go to a different home but life goes on. That would be a real nice car to own and enjoy tiding up and then driving around. I guess you had done it up originally.

I'm with you there Chuck, I had never seen it here either or some of your stuff you have been selling off as well.

That sure would have been a nice replacement for the convert I just sold, oh well that's life eh.

Cheers, John

Hey 77 and Fatchuk, the car never was for sale, it all started with a discussion about the car and the next thing a deal was struck. I think it was a surprise to all. The guy that bought the car collected and restored Oldsmobiles and decided on a Buick for a change. I still can't believe I sold it either.

Yes Aero46Chevy there is a 1959 Chevy in my collection that was parked in front of the Buick, neat old car, one previous owner, 54000 miles, never been redone.

Hey Chuckie, talk to Pat (Fordnutz), if your still interested in a 48 Convert. He's got a buddy with one (red). I don't know if he would sell it, but it might be worth a try. It's in Moose Jaw.

Hey 41..I am curious about what the car went for ..you could send me a PM if you don't mind...Damn..I love that car ..I been sorta looking for rag in that vintage for many moons..not a rust bucket or a major restore..just a nice clean old Buick rag..and looks like I missed a really nice one...

If my trip happens this year out that way ..I will be bringing my trailor and maybe lookin for somebody that needs something hauled out that way or back I coulda brought that pretty little thing home and loved it forever...really sorry I didn't get a chance on that car it looks like a beauty..and I sure do have a weak spot for those old Buicks..when I seen those pics of that car it made my day...:D

Then I read the rest of the post...:bummer...bummer..Oh well I am probably too old to buying any more cars....need to save for the woodbox...:(

Maybe I will use what I already have more, but still would like a 1955, 56 Pontiac, or if I sell anything else I would like a Deuce coupe, or

The Buick has arrived in White Rock safe and sound! Talked to the “new owner” this morning. I was very concerned about the Buick being transported on an open trailer with wind getting under the older convertible top when meeting other vehicles, plus road rash from the tow vehicle and on coming traffic. The decision was made to wrap the vehicle in clear cling wrap used to wrap pallets, (not expensive) plus added a little 200 Mile Per Hour tape over the wrap, making a cocoon for the vehicle. This certainly protected the vehicle for the 500-mile trip, and was taken off on arrival with no problems at all.
