I agree, POS in my mind. I'd most likely pull over in case the brakes failed, the driver of this rat has nothing to lose.

$4000... pretty steep for something that probabaly shouldn't be on the road. try $1000 and then throw $3000 or more at it to get it raod worthy and through inspections?

I don't usually diss on other peoples creations, but I do like the comment
"Haul your $50,000 Rod in style".

So, a hand operated clutch, mmmm
lets say theres a bend in the road, you are accelerating and its time to change gear - left hand off the steering wheel to depress the clutch - right hand off the steering wheel to change gear - who the heck is steering

I think that chap ain't firing on all cylinders:D

Judging by the amount of welding and fabrication done, the man does have some talent, but why build a shock value POS like that? He could have taken that whole winter he had doing nothing and welded and fabbed stuff for people who would have paid him to do some work on their projects. Then he would not be trying to sell that abortion. $1000.00 and strip it for parts!
cheers

I always wondered if you could do a motorbike type clutch lever on a floor shift - squeeze the lever and shift gears with the same hand - with some kind of hydraulic or electronic activation for the clutch. I'm probably nuts for thinking it would be easy, but he might have had that idea. If you had a gimp left leg but really wanted a standard transmission a hand clutch might be something to consider.

Also, this thing has a HAND CLUTCH, so, if that fact even remotely bothers you, dont waste my time, it works great, i yard drove it. Its FUN.
Nothing like real world testing to prove that the hand clutch is safe....

i just stayed home in the garage all winter putting this together.
Talk about a wild case of cabin fever

I think the original one ton truck woulda been worth more alone. Looks like he knew what he was doing but at the same time didn't..

Looks worse than my VW craptraption (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i11/turbosprunt/vwbuggy/100_0751.jpg?t=1255662131), but at least I dont plan to drive mine on the road!

You can get an electronic clutch setup meant for handicapped drivers, little button on the shift knob and your bangin gears with no feet.

i hope this guy found a job now, `cause his hobby isn`t gonna pay the bills! the hand clutch is hurting and that heel operated brake pedal is not far behind. test driving around the yard sure makes a vehicle road worthy.
