Grumble grumble grumble.... old farmer came to look at the car today .... to be honest with you I have never seen and actual "tire kicker" but today... I seen one. he literally kicked the tire as he walked around it. couldn't believe it. told me how he just sold a 1927 Nash, really rough shape, but drivable up and down the drive for $5000... in the same breath offerd me 3 grand for mine. I kept my cool, and just chuckled. told him I'd leave him and his friend alone with the car for a few min to look over the car in private. 10 min later I go out and they are picking it apart a little harder... LOL and just the small things... never mind the obvious stuff to me. final offer as he was getting in the truck was $5g. told him I would like to see closer to the asking price, so when he re thought his offer, bring his money and the trailer and we would talk. Said he would think it over and call me.

Silly old farmers... no offence to anyone here.

lol... I think he's a retired farmer... no daughter mentioned or implied... Wife would eat her for breakfast anyways LOL. She's viscious! I dunno... maybe I'm asking too much? I don't think so.. but I kinda have a jaded opinion LOL. pretty hard to find a running driving car from the 50's for under 10 grand... I've looked. Find one and your usually doin good, and need to do some work on it. There was a blue meteor that sold in BC off this board there last year... who bought it and what did it cost them?? IF I can be so bold to ask? if I remember corectly.. some one's dad on here bought it

Too bad Mike:( Are you getting any other responces? This crazy weather we've had won't be helping either. |I know you want to sell it soon, but people will think more about buying a cool cruiser for the summer once it warms up and they see some cars running around. Advertise as a graduation present. Or, maybe when the kids get out of school and get their first oilfield jobs they will want to spend it on your car. :)

you did well to hold your cool with this "lookie loo" - a guy just sniffin around to see if he can get your car on the cheap. I have always found that locals can be real timewasters when I have had a car for sale - ten years ago, advertised a 33 Ford 3 window rebuilder here in Victoria - 30 or so locals came by and scratched themselves - all wanted it cheap - first out-of-towner came along with real cash and took the coupe away. The locals acted like a 33 3 window would be available anytime, and were in no hurry. Fact is, there has never been another one for sale here in rebuilder condition since. Don't know what the deal is with that, but ever since I have never advertised a collector car locally. Good luck on the sale of your shoebox - it looks like a good deal.

That's a sweet looking mordor. I think you're justified with the asking price.
Tell the next one that insults you with a low ball to go piss up a rope.

you're justified in your price don't worry about it. I've seen a couple of decent driveable 50's cars for sale, but only at 9 grand. I bet there was still something that needed work as well. and not nearly as nice as yours :)

The warmer it gets the more people will come. everyone wants a good old fashioned ride to take the ladies for a drive in. ;)

I had to sell a couple of cars this year, nothing special, just a 1986 Toyota MR2 (always had a thing for mid engines) and a 1986.5 Toyota both for cheap, parts cars.

This one guy made me an offer, wanted me to deliver to niagra falls area (4 hours from me!) so i got it set, and i said i want 90% down before i leave, he said he thought he should get them for free just for taking them off my hands!

Just something I often say to a guy when they try to ankle tap me on a deal is, "so what you are really saying is you don't have the money and can't afford to by the car, when you have enough money just call me first becaus ethe chances are at this price the car will most likely be sold and if it isn't sold I might have changed my mind and decided to keep it.". That is a kind way of insulting the guy and some folks don't like to be told they can't afford something so instead of just knocking you down a bit they will shell out the full price just to prove to you they have the money. Us humans are funny critters and pride often overpowers reality at times like that. But if someone said that to me I'd just say no I think it's a peice of S**t and really don't see the money there until after I fix it up the way it should be.

Stick to your guns it's better than money in the bank today.

Cheers, John

thanks for the positive words fellas, a person kinda gets down after what seems like a 100 emails, then the first person to come look is like this... still havent heard back from the guy, so I don't think he will call back. LOL
