My 50 Chevy truck has ever since I,ve known it had a lil gas smell around it on hot days . Now we all know older cars an such the gas tank vent line just went down thru the floor and laid along the frame rails somewheres . The guy that owned the truck just cut the vent line off where it came out of sender at top of tank with a pr of side cutters . I was thinking of making up a new vent line and running it down thru the floor hole . Then attaching it to the frame . And maybe put a little inline fuel filter on the end of line . Just to catch any possible fuel splash that may come out the vent tube . What have you guys done to remake a vent tube .
Later on maybe next winter , Im thinking I might put a factory GM carb style charcoal cannister set up from a 80,s car on it maybe .
Any ideas or opinions . thanks ..77.

:eek:77 Sure hope you don't smoke. If there is enough of the old vent pipe square off the end a round the inside and attach a rubber fuel line to it attach clamps and then extend the metal pipe with solid line down through the floor . Make sure you seal around the pipe going through the floor .Don't worry about any filter .

It has a female flare nut on the stub of the vent line . so i made a vent line about 6 ft long . Ends up attached to cross member just over drive shaft ..77.
