Just been doing some clearance measurements prior to ordering coil-overs and found that when I raise and lower the rear wheels thru shock travel from full extension to full compression, the wheels move forward and back about 1 1/2" thru full travel. I have the utmost faith in the fellow that did the install for me so I'm sure that it is correct.

Other issue related to this: will there be premature wear/failure on the shock neoprene bushings as they will always be twisted side to side with travel? I'll probably use QA1 with heim end on one end.

Any alignment Gurus out there that can explain this for me. I'll post some pictures that might make things clearer than the thousand words if anyone would like.

What kind of suspension are you using? A 4 bar suspension? The shorter the arms the more it will move as it goes through its arc. Remember, as you drive down the road, the suspension travels very little unless you hit a big bump.

Thanks for response Russ. Yes I'm using a 4bar, actually the suspension from a C4 (89) Corvette. After talking to a Corvette friend a week ago he suggested the same as you have that there will be very little actual movement because full suspension travel is really unlikely to occur. I'm going to put a larger bump stop to prevent the frame from contacting the tie bars just to prevent damage if I do have a bottomming out bump.

34Vette,,The upper and lower control arms if you are useing the originals are very short compaired to the regular 4 bars . The forward motion of the spindles will be more dramatic than the regular 4bar .Coil overs will only move up and down about an inch unless you hit a hard bump ,but the weight of the vehicle and spring weight will determine your movement . The movement of coilovers are much less than the monoleaf.Post pix ,its always good to see different ideas
