I have to make a curved flange to weld the sheet metal to when i make the new panel...you could bend a stick but it’s never consistent..I traced the sub rail

..this is how to draw a curve...pound nails in your pattern at the ends of your curve and one at the peak in the center
Take two straight edges and make sure they are at least as long as your entire curve. Cross them over making sure that all three nails are being touched...like the pic...screw it or staple it together

Mark the center of your guide and remove the center nail...put your pencil where the nail used to be and slide the guide making sure its touching the remaining two nails...perfect curve symmetrically

Martin, once you take the centre nail out. Put the pencil in it's place in the corner (point). The two pieces of thin plywood can now slide back and forth along the two remaining nails thus drawing your curve as you move the pieces of plywood forward and back.

That's what I got from it... Hope I am somewhat right.

What a neat trick, BCT. I've been a Mech designer/draftsman for the last 30+ years, first on the board and on CAD for the last 15 or so. I thought I new all the tricks when it comes to layout work. Just goes to show ya.

Good one.
