Well mostly on Tires. :D

I'm swapping out the 14" that cam on my car for 15's, (not much of a big wheel fan). :rolleyes:

Let's get this thread under way.....

To start there were a set of Tornado G60-14, no other number to tell how wide they were. Measured up to almost 9" wide.
I am replacing that with just a roller for now, but the size is what I'd like to go with. P255/60R15.

OLD Wheel / Tire::::::: 70's Centerline, I think??

NEW Wheel / Tire ::::::: 15" x 8" Rally's

Up front I have to ditch the 14" for 15" because of my disk brake conversion. I have a set of 15" x 6" Rally's. Here is my delima....
I really like the look of fat out back and skinny up front and a nice rake (Muscle Car Look).
I was thinking a P185/60R15 which is 7.3". I'm just not sure of side wall, if it would look off or not? I like the fact that the 255/60 fills the well more than the older 14".

For those of you who are driving a Tri-5 and up, what's your wheel tire combo?
And do you have a stance pic?

Here is what they would look like (http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp?item=Wheel-Tire%20size%20comparer&showRim1=1&showTire1=1&sw1=185&ar1=60&bd1=15&rd1=15&rw1=6.0&et1=2&showRim2=1&showTire2=1&sw2=255&ar2=60&bd2=15&rd2=15&rw2=8.0&et2=-11&text1=&text2=)

Techhead, I also prefer the muscle car look...and of course you must be able to back it up! This the stance I have now, all four tires/wheels are the same size (15" rim, not sure the tire). I will be watching this to get more ideas as well because I do not like the wheels and know there is a better combo out there.
There is a disk brake kit in the front with 2" lowering spindles, stock sagged rear leafs.

You should go have a look at that size of tire. 185 / 60 r 15 is a pretty little tire for that car. More for a mazda or along that line.
Myself I would look at a 225 / 70 R 15 or at the smallest a 215 / 70....

Just a quick note on tire size how each is determined:
say the following just as an example: P235/50R15
P= passenger
235 width in millimeters at the widest point (generally sidewall to sidewall)
50 is the aspect ratio of the sidewall height, so in this case 50% of 235
R is radial
15 is the diameter of the wheel or rim.

Just some FYI

I do realize most will set it as too skinny a tire upfront, but what's the diff if I put that under my 58 (street driven) or say a Gasser?

Or a Muscle Car with skinnies up front?

There have got to be some members out there that have fat out back and skinny up front??

I vote for 195/70/15. I think when you get down to the smaller tires, the lower profile tires start to look like rubber bands. On an older car, a more conventional sidewall height looks better in my opinion. The lower profiles look more street machine or late model to me. Scrounge around with your buddies or get some worn out ones from a tire shop to try for looks.

My vote... fat-n-skinny

My brothers 1980 Grand Prix had 15 x 3.5 pro stars with 165 x 85 x 15" from a VW Bug. they were okay to drive on, just respect the turns. they don't like sudden changes in direction.

BTW. are those 15 x 7 or 15 x 8 rims on the delray

I should read between the lines "er Photos before I post

15 x 8's the straight o picture makes them look narrow.
