I have been looking around this area for a tilt steering column for a early chevette, (it was an option on them , hard to find), and was wondering if there is another model of gm steering column that is a direct bolt in swap that might have a tilt column. Wondering if a Chevy Monza column would be the same?

If I remember correctly, the Chevette used a "rope" steering column (I think it was actually braided steel) - not sure if any other models used that. I remember driving one and the steering wheel was off centre, kind of annoying. On the other hand, with enough work and money, you can make anything fit anything you want it to.

If you mean 76/early 77 as "early", according to my Hollander manual there was no tilt option for those years. (1st was 78)
Also they are unique to the Chevette and do not interchange with any other GM.
Even If its later, the same applies to all Chevette columns listed.....they are all unique to Chevette.

Incidentally, my Hollander manuals are still available....

that wasn't what I wanted to hear but thanks for the information, from the sounds of that I will have to find a 78 chevette as well as the harness then and possibly make mounts, looks like I will have some work to do. thanks again.
