Good day everyone, my name is Lou and I hail out of Penticton. I was registered on the old site but didn't spend much time chatting. I have 48 Ford tudor project c/w Chev powertrain that's been hanging around my shop for a couple of years but I just can't seem to get serious enough to get it on the road. I also have a 58 Chev pick-up bought about a year ago which is a driver, it's was built about 15 years ago and starting to show it's age again. When I figure out how to post pictures I'll put up a few. Thanks

Welcome back here, the 48 sounds like a good thing, just remember when you are doing a car to look at it not as a big project but just a number of small jobs and do them one at a time, like do the fenders or whatever and when that is done you will be moving onto the next thing, try and set yourself a target for each job like say a week or a month depending on how bad it is and then try and have it done by then. It will surprise you how quick it will come together.
If you don't think you are going to get it done then reset the time schedule.
All the best with it and good luck with getting it done.
There is nothing more satisfying that at the end just saying to your family and friends that you built the car. Sure there will be jobs that might need to be farmed out but you'll get there.
welcome from another okanaganite
Welcome back Lou. I know how you feel, I've got a 48 Ford tudor as well and it's stripped down and on the rotissarie. Got started on the 64 Pontiac rag instead. My mind is set to finish one project all the way befor tackling another, so the Ford has to wait.

Hi there Lou......
I like the sound of the 58 Chevy p/u, is it original or hot-rod? I have a 59 fleetside I had for years want to build one day.
Welcome
Dennis. :)

hey, Penticton is a great place! Used to take the kids there in the summer, sometimes to the hockey school. Now get going on that 48!

Thanks for the welcome and all the suggestions to get off my but and get it done. As for your question Dennis if the 58 is stock or not. It has a 283 c/w a full syncro 3 speed instead of the original six and a crash box and the diff is 12 bolt. I also changed the seat and moved the tank so I can fit my 6'3" not skinny body into it a little easier. But basically it hasn't been butcherred up so if a guy wanted to switch it back it could be done quite easily.

I'm not sure if I did this right but here are a couple pic's of my 58. I have lowered it a couple inches since this was taken.

Welcome to the new site Lou. Have you ever met Don Robson down there? When Don first showed up here in PG he was driving a 47 Ford 2 door sedan that was small block ford powered and painted halloween orange. Someone down in Penticton could maybe jog him into doing another one..... his 36 coupe dosn't seem to inspire him anymore....... Gerry
