Wow! Got a fright when I tried to log in tonight. Thought you guys had an avalanche and the forum was buried in snow.

The new layout is just like our New Zealand Hotrod forum so I'm stoked with that.

I have been absent for a while with business etc but I'm back and have pics in tow.

These are from the Hotrod Blowout last Sunday in Auckland. Hosted by a group of guys called the Scroungers it is a traditional hotrod show that gains strength every year.

Hope all you mad Canadians and John in Oz are doin' well.

See the blue 34 Chevy coupe I used to know the guy that first stripped that car down from a stocker he bought that off a farmer just near Mamaku, I went to school with the guy that did it, man I can't remember his name now but he used to call in to our place on his way home from Rotorua, I had a 39 Chevy coupe back then. Now that would have to have been about 1967 or 1968 when he first got that all stripped down, I nearly swaped him for my 39 because he used to get cold driving in the winter with the snow in Mamaku but my old man told me that was a bad deal because the old chev was full of wood. Does Grease Martin still own it now days?

There is a story to the Yellow A bucket of John Parry's there as well. Back at the first Autorama I think it was called that was the top Hot Rod at that show in Christchurch. John is still a carpenter in Rotorua. Johns Dad dumped the rear part of that car while John was building it because he thought it was junk and thought John wouldn't be needing those parts so that is how come he did the cab like he did. That was originally Metalic blue and John raced it at Hill Climbs and Grass track meets and the Drags.

Digger Dave, if you are looking at these, take a look at the guy in the wheel chair beside the Rail, you may remember him. That is Chris Harris that crashed at Bonnieville in about 1974 I think it was. His son got a record at Bonnieville last year.

The 32 3W is mine, it's been coming together for a few years after starting with a bare shell and doors found at the Portland Swap meet many years ago.

B-Bob, don't worry about that rusty roadster, it was put together just for the show .The owner is an excellent body and fender man, who also built the blue fenderless 5w pictured earlier in the post,as well as the hemi powered 34 pickup, so the roadster is in good hands. Barry.
