Apparently, and very quietly, Dan Cyr who owns the Grand National (AMBR)and the Sacremento shows, sold off the Seattle Roadster and the Portland Rod & Custom shows to another promoter some time in late 2007.

That promoter has now defaulted, hence the 2009 shows have been cancelled and supposedly Cyr is now in the process of suing.

According to some, the Seattle show was going downwards over the last couple of years (had a large rice rocket/tuner show included) and the Portland one was battling it out for rides with the original Portland Roadster show which continues. Cyr's Portland show was started becuase he was booted out of the original for some reason and decided to take his marbles elsewhere. Both shows suffered as there are only so many rides.

At the least, the orginal show will now be the Northwest premier event like it use to be.

To bad. Seattle was a good show. I am sure something will pop up.

Had not heard that yet. Too bad, because like Magoo said, we always had fun going to that one in Seattle.

"Golden Boy" Young... that's funny.
