engine steering shaft clearance?

How much engine movement small block ford stock mounts? I am installing the steering shaft to the mustang 2 rack and just wondering on clearance between shaft and engine.

Make sure you have the headers or exhaust manifolds you're going to use mocked onto the motor when you are doing the steering shaft mockup. As for motor movement, it will torque away from the shaft, won't it? I would think that there will not be more than 1/2" movement at best anyway.

Thanks for the advice, there is about 3/4 of a inch clearance now. I can move the steering column.
