We are going to have the same problem as Lono had to deal with because of our 4 inch dropped front axle. The scrub line is below the rim on the 15" wheels, and the easiest fix will be finding 16" tires and wheels. My question is, what year did Ford go to 4 1/2" bolt pattern, and did they make 16" rims with that pattern? I know I can find aftermarket stuff, but I'm hoping to find something older. Any one have 4 they would like to get rid of?

1949 was the first year for ford car to go 4 1/2 " they were 15" wheels. the truck still carry on with the 5" bolt pattern & 15" wheel. So you will need after market wheels or addapters? Unless someone out there knows of some wheels to fit??

actually if you can find them the 49 ford car, came factory with 16 inch wheels. 15's were optional. although that being said, I've had a few of these cars and have never had, or came across 16's. now you can get super saver spares from the junkyard that are 16's with the right bolt pattern, just switch out the tires. might need to get more than four... I bought 4 the same, and when I went to balance them, 2 of them were very warped... nothign a straight edge might fix when checking them out I guess. oh.... and they are skinny... like only 4.5 or 5 inch

I'll have to have a look at the wife's Grand Marquis. I guess only full disk hub caps are going to work with these tho.

Most of these are universal wheels with mult bolt patterns, hence most full caps will not fit.
