Hi all - Nice new version of the Forum. Finally figured out that I had to re-register - so Frank please ignore the email asking for help.

Hope Spring becomes summer fast!!! Just picked up the 69 Ford - lots of work to do on floor and chassis (cross members, frame rails, rad supports all look like swiss cheese). Looking for parts - hard to find for such a rare car. Hope its ready before end of summer.

Tis good you were able to make the treck to the new side of life here.....Hope you do okay on your project. The demon rust can sure wreck havock. Workin on a 96 right now and if not knew better I would have thought it came from Ontario. The calcium they have started to use is showing it's ugly side but that is just in my opinion only............

Hey 55 Lincoln

I assume you are asking about Thornhill Cruise night at Bayview and Steeles -the first one is on Monday May 19th. Looking forward to HRPT in June!

Sounds like you have a bit of work ahead of you on the 69 when you say it's a Ford what is it in the Ford family.

Good to see you made the transit from the other board here alright.

Cheers, John

Hi there does your Ford have a big block in it? Welcome back.
Dennis :)

28Abone and John in Ox - Thanks.

Yes its a 428 CJ Ram Air - date code casting on the block (8K23 = Oct 23, 1968) is the same week as, and prior to, the production date of the body Oct 28, 1968 (according to the Marti report from the body VIN#), so I am assuming its numbers matching. Yes it is an R-Code VIN.

Next week I'll remove the valve cover to see if the head stamping matches the CJ head code, also look for the "C" casting mark too. I'll also look back of #8 cylinder where head meets the block for a partial VIN. I'll let you know if I can find these codes/markings. But I am pretty happy about the matching of the block casting date and production date.

Restoration starts soon - just choosing the right shop(s)!!!

Meanwhile thankful that the Camaro is ready for the nice weather. :)

Here are a few pictures of the car before the work is started. Hopefully it will look at least as good after the work is done.

That is a nice looking car, we didn't get that style down here so naturally with it being a 2 door it really looks great. It has nice lines to say the least.

Good for you scoring that car and have fun rebuilding it.

Cheers, John
