Tim:
Very interesting post here as we will be in the same city Oct 26 - 30. Be great to get together for some reminiscing and future rod run plans (CR tour East 09??). Looks like we will both miss SEMA by a week.

Tim & Diana -- you have to go to the Carroll Shelby museum... it's right at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

You could also go to the Auto Collections at the Imperial Palace -- they sell the cars, but it's nice to look too! :)

If ya stay at The Imperial Pallace, there is no charge to see the auto collection there. It's a must see regardless. Win big downstairs and head up to buy your dream car. It has happended. Good luck.

Did the Rookie experience a couple years back in Vegas, I'll tell you it's awesome but it goes so damn fast with the few laps they give you. If you take the ride a long before the drive the pro will definately give you one hell of a ride at around 165MPH, when you get to drive the average you out around 125-128MPH MAX since you have to follow the pro they keep you a little more tame.
I'll be down in Vegas just days after you go, I'll be down there for SEMA.
Kinda sucks you won't be down there for Halloween, it's a hoot on the strip.

Shelby factory is awesome, they had the race track parking area full of Mustangs (1600 of them) the one time we went down. The tour is awesome but they shortened it up since they took on the GT500's, and it's free but make sure your there for I beleive it's 10:30 am.
The Auto Collection at the Imperial once had Hitlers car, we stay there almost every time we go to Vegas ( 4 times a year ).

Thanks Stacey for the info on the Shelby museum and juice03 about the collection at the Imperial Palace ( been 3 times to it in the past visits ):) I did the rockie experience 4yrs ago but thought with the banking on the corners now it might be faster ( best lap was 46.6 sec 115 average):D:D.
Any rod shops to visit of interest??????????
