A local Dairy Queen in north Calgary held a S & S today, sunny and 26C.
Good turn out of cars, 75 rides jammed the parking lot and a bit of the street next to the DQ.
Some pics of the more interesting rides:

The son is now driving this, his father started the project in 1962!!
This is a time machine. The interior was done in diamond tuft.

Its a 409, not a 348, which was the orginal motor at first.

This 51 was built the traditional way, a true lead sled as all mods done in lead,
It was channeled 7 inches over a newer car frame.
The front was extended 8 inches so that a rad could be installed.

For those who dare to be different:

A 302SBC jammed in between the fenders!

The photo does not do this ride justice.
You almost walked by this '66 cuda because the colour was so subtle, you did not notice the real small flakes in the paint unitl you caught the sun at the right angle, and then it just popped.

Crikey you got around this weekend OneBad56, thanks for the pics. There was a good variety of vehicles at the run.
They are a nice looking model those Barracuda's, unfortunately we only got 4 door sedans and station wagons but even with the slant 6 they were a thing to be reckoned with in their day. Out here that Model was referd to as an AP6, they also had the small V8 but not that many were produced down here with V8's. The colour on that Barra suits it. We also got a 6 cylinder 265 Cubic inch Hemi engine a few years later which was designed here in Oz and good for near 140 M.P.H. off the factory floor with triple side draft Webbers, to compete with the 351 GT Falcons and 350 Chev Powered Holdens.
That Chevy Sedan Delivery is a neat thing, I have seen it the last couple of times I have been there and it is one car that catches my eye each time.
Thanks again, Cheers, John

Speaking of the Yellow/White Chevy Delivery, do you happen to know who owns it? It seems REALLY familiar to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

No I do not HotrodChick.
I have seen the delivey a few times and then it disappears out the the limelight for a while.
I am told the gentlemen bought the car in Florida, that's I know.

Brian I think from memory the number plates on that car is PIPES and it was at Banff run put on by Touring Tin and then Edmonton run put on by The Edmonton Street Rod Ass'n when we were there a few years ago, if it is the same car it has a seat in the back as well, I'm guessing for the kids maybe. I would stand corrected but I think in small writting it has something about a plumbers shop or something like that, I'm guessing that is the meaning of the number plates as well.
I could go back through my photos from those runs because I feel sure I would have taken a pic of it.
Cheers, John

I've never seen that Chevelle SS anywhere in NS, wonder from what part of the province it's from.
Definately like the Candy Green.

Name on the rad cover was "Cast Coast Customs" , do not know if that is "real" or make believe.

Hi,
"OneBad56", I liked your truck but never got a chance to say Hi. I will catch you the next time I see you at a show.
Here's a link to my pics from the show:

John, You are correct about the Sedan Delivery. It does say "pipes" on the rear. The owner's name is Pete. I met him at the A&W cruise night a few weeks ago.
