Well guys, my Dad came over yesterday and we worked on the 32 Ford 4x4 for the first time in over a year. the 32 roadster project got in the way, but we are back on track.

Ok, now for the question:
We want to put a shifter on the original 3spd 66 Bronco tranny. We need the shifter to come up right in the middle of the access cover for the top loader.
A friend mentioned that the James Duff shifter is positioned here, but after looking on the website and Emailing them, I still dont have the answer that I wanted.
Has anyone installed a James Duff shifter in a late 60s bronco 6cyl 3spd , could you tell me where the shifter is located or a pic would be better.

Thanks a lot
Kelly

If it is a Ford top loader, would the shifter tower assembly off a 76-77 Jeep CJ5 work?

Have a couple of PDF files relating to this conversion from Street Rodder back in 1990.

have you given any thougt to a 4 speed instead? the spacing between the gears on the old 3speed broncs were pretty wide and with the six it isn,t much fun. there is a new adapter out for putting a 4speed behind a six that is just a metal disc as compared to the whole center section used on the 8

The james duff shifter is the same as the hurst one crappy tire sells. The hurst one is probably better though.
